Snowman Thank You Cards using Treat cups

Here are Snowmen Thank you cards I made for my students for all their lovely gifts that they gave me. I must have been a good girl this year because they blessed me with wonderful gifts and thoughts. I so appreciate them thinking of me at this special season. Thank you students and parents from the bottom of my heart!!! I am so blessed that I have the opportunity to have you in our classroom!!!

I filled the treat cups with dried vanilla flavored marshmallows. They could be filled with almost anything.

Freezer Paper Snowmen T-shirts

My special needs students each made a t-shirt to wear at our annual Christmas luncheon/party held in our classroom. (see previous post about this.) This is a sample of one. They got to choose what colors and how they wanted to decorate their own snowman. The shirts took a lot of steps and many days because the paint or fabric glitter had to dry in between steps. They totally enjoyed making them. They are made by using the freezer paper method.

The first step was to cut out a snowman template using my cricut and freezer paper. I ironed on each template for them. (Didn't want them to get burned.) Here are some of the steps we did.

Each step was painted using the Soft fabric paint and then a washable fabric glitter added. This was my first time to use the fabric glitter. (It does wash up well. One of my student's mothers send in a very sweet note telling me how well they washed up.) The glitter we used was made by Tulip. You had to use a fabric Tulip bond first so the glitter would adhere. Here is one of my students enjoying his work!!

Classroom Christmas Party 2011

Each year the American Legion Ladies Aux. host a luncheon/party for my students. We do all the decorating but they do the party. Our theme this year was snowmen. These are my wonderful students. This year we were blessed to have our homebound student join us!! What a surprise and blessing!! The students made their own t-shirts.

 

These were the placemats we made. This is just an example: They were decorated differently.

 

Before the ladies came we decorated snowmen cookies from them. I thought I took pictures of them but can't locate them. They were made from the white chocolate covered oreos and decorated with gumdrops. The tag that was attached to the package which we gave to each of the ladies read: Here is a Snowman smile...Since you always go the extra mile.

 

 

 

Here are some pictures of our table. I was so busy that day I failed to take close up ones of our projects. Each place-mat had a place-card holder made out of three candy candies to act like an easel with a snowman and their name stamped on the card. We had red and green candles that were donated my my sister/brother-in-laws store. Also each student was given a stuffed Frosty which also were donated from a dear friend and retired teacher of mine. All these special things make the day special. I'm blessed to have such caring family and friends.

 

 

 

Giraffe Poop

This is the funniest present I ever got!! My family and friends (students, too) know that my favorite animal is a giraffe. One student played a trick on me with the help of my aide. Last year I gave this one student a bucket of candy coal for Christmas (plus his 'real' gift). He is such a great student and has a sense of humor. He loved it so this year they decided to play the trick on me. He was so sneaky about it, too. Here is the present:

The 'poop' was really chocolate covered sunflower seeds.

December 2011 Bulletin Boards

Here are two December bulletin boards I made for my classroom. They are both used for positive motivation. One is where they hang up their amazing work and when they get 12 papers then they get to pick out of the prize box. The other one is a sticker reward chart. Once they get a row filled they get to choose out of the prize box. What great motivations that they are!

Frosty the Snowman Tree

Here is our classroom tree. We have a snowman theme going on and saw this idea on Pinterest. I made the frosty head from black felt and white material left over from the stockings I made this year. Also the boots were made out of black felt. Isn't he CUTE??

Hand Soap Personalized

I made these for a great group of ladies who provided an awesome Christmas Luncheon for my students. They have done this for well over 35 years and we are so grateful for their generosity.
These have a snowman inside them with the saying: Snowmany Thanks. These were stamped on transparency sheets with Stazon ink using Peachy Keen stamps. First I stamped them on the 'rougher" side but that was a BIG mistake even though it says to print on that side. When I put them inside the bottles the ink smeared. I had to empty out the bottles and refill them with new hand soap. What a bubbly mess! lol I found you MUST stamp it on the shiny smooth side. Then it won't smear once placed inside the bottle. Oh yes, you must remove the sticker from the outside and use goo begone to remove the sticky gunk.

I made two with black dogs and one with a frog for other special people. It is so easy and makes a very small gift to show your appreciation for all they give. You can put anything on it. Just roll up the transparency and slide it inside the bottle. Use the pump stick to get it into place. I love how they turned out. I made a total of 15.

Monogram Tiles

Here are some tiles I saw on Pinterest. I made two of them for wedding presents for coworkers and two for Christmas presents. I love how they turned out. I give the credit to Paper Pastime. Check out her blog. She has some awesome ideas and great tutorials, too.
I used the regal font for the monogram letter. I cut it out of black vinyl and put it on a 12 x 12 floor tile found at Lowes. Or is you are lucky enough like me and have great friends who have left over tiles that they "donated" to my crafting business. They are easy to do. I coated them with modge podge and a clear shellac.
