Black Magic Technique

I saw this technique done on several blogs and thought it looks so cool. Of course my creative mind wouldn't rest until I tried it. I love how it turned out. It was my first attempt so I'm sure I have lots of room for improvement. I turned it into a thank you card for someone near and dear to me.

MS Corner and Border Punch

I found this on clearance at Michael's yesterday. I'm falling in love with MS corner and border punches. They make great accents to pages, cards, and other projects.

Snowmany Thanks

These are the thank you cards I made for the many wonderful gifts I got this year.  Santa was really good to me!!  I cut the base of the card at 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches.  I used MS Loopy border and corner punch.  Then stamped white snowflakes on the base.  I used Distress Ink Broken China and stamped the snowman and the Snowmany Thanks.  Both of those were Peachy Keen stamps.  However when I stamped the snowman I didn't stamp the tails of the scarf.  I masked over them with a small piece of post a note because I wanted to use ribbon for the scarf.  I used my Prisma pencil to color the carrot nose.  I layered it onto my base.  I use three D foam stickers to make the snowman pop out.   I also stamped a snowflake on the front and back of the envelope.

After Christmas Sale

I purchased these from Joann's at 70% off which was on their clearance aisle.  I really didn't need anymore Christmas paper put a paper addict can't pass up a deal like this.   The first stack has just plain colored paper so I can use it any time.  The pattern Christmas stack has a lot of paper that can be used for other projects besides Christmas  (at least thats how I'm justifying purchasing it.).  LOL  I loved that ribbon and those rubons are adorable.  I have plans for using them already.

Homebound Student

I teach special needs students and recently have a homebound student. I made him a tote to keep his school books in using the freezer paper method. I put vinyl on the pencil box too. Both items were cut using my cricut. Aaron and his mother were thrilled with them.

Coal for Christmas

I used the freezer paper method to make this little bag. I put in a bucket of candy coal in it. I played a trick on one of my student. He thought it was so funny!!! What I did was pass out all the Christmas gifts to my students and then didn't give him one but gave him this bag. He laughed until he almost cried. Of course later I gave him his "real" gift. He has such a sense of humor. I just love him!!!

Classroom Christmas Party

The American Legion Ladies Aux. host a Christmas Luncheon for my special needs students in our classroom. We make the decorations and pick a different theme each year. This year was "SNOW". (Last year was Santa.) These are the placemats we made. You can see the candle, and snowman ornament that we used as placecards, and the snowman candy wrapper that I posted earlier about. We also hung huge clear plastic shiny snowflakes from the ceiling. It was really pretty and the kids were super duper excited. Lets say, my aide and I were totally exhausted after this party. We so appreciate the work the ladies put into making us dinner in our classroom and playing games with us. It is so much FUN!!!

Snowman Wrappers

I got this idea from Laurie Furnell's blog.  Check it out here. She is so creative!!!  I think they are so cute.  I put a Hershey bar in them.  I made them for my students and many other people as little gifts this year.  I crimped my ends.  I think it made them look 'professional'.

Snowment Glass Bulb Ornaments

I had my special needs students make these ornaments. The American Legion Aux. Ladies put on a fabulous luncheon for my classroom. The cook us lunch with all the trimmings. We play games, Santa comes, and tons of fun! We decorate our room with a theme in mind. We choose snomen/snowflakes this year. Each child made on for their parent/guardian and for the ladies. They are made using glass ornaments with white tinse stuffed inside. The nose and eyes are made out of self stick foam. The 'coal' mouth are sticky black gems. The earmuffs are red pompom an red pipe cleaners

Snowflake Candles

These candles were made by stamping the snowflakes with SU Brilliant Blue Ink on white tissue paper and 'melting' it onto the candle using wax paper and a heat gun. We are using these candles for a Christmas party in our classroom. I love how they turned out. The students are thrilled with them, too

December Bulletin Boards

Our theme this month was a snowmen/snowflake theme. Also there are clear 14 inch snowflakes hanging from the ceiling that I purchased from the Dollar Tree. Everyone stops to remark about those snowflakes.

Birthday Card - Mom

A Birthday card I made for my mom's 82nd birthday! She loves to feed and watch the birds which inspired me to make this card. I embossed the top with a wood grain embossing folder which looks like a tree. It doesn't really show in this picture though. The pine tree branches are from MS punch and the bird from the SU punch. I added 'snow' to the branches. The bottom of the card is embossed by a SU folder and SU stamp and punches did the sentiment. I added a ribbon that I bought on clearance at Walmart for .25. I like the three D effect that the bird has with the branches.
