February Bulletin Boards

These are two of my February bulletin boards for my classroom. My aide loves frog so I did a board for her and I love giraffes. The children loved them. We pretend we don't like the others animals and they think its funny. Its hard to see in the pictures but both animals have red hearts all over them.

Happy Tooth Card

Here is a card I made for my dentist. I had an emergency last week and he got me right in and even overbooked himself so he could deal with my problem. And now after a 9 months of messing with that tooth, I think its fixed. Yeah. He is so super nice!! The tooth inside is actually while... it looks bluish in the picture. The flowers I put on it are made out of tissue paper. You take tissue paper and layer it between 10-17 layers and use a round punch. Then take and put a stitch in the center to hold them together. Next you take each layer of tissue paper and crunch it up until you get all the layers done. Then gently shape the flower. Easy and they turned out so cute.
The card base is using the Black Magic paper by core'dinations.   I embossed it and then lightly sanded it.  I like the grunge look of it. Then use the Swiss Dot embossing folder and embossed the gold strip.  I used the tooth on B is for Boy cart and made a row of them.  Thats also where the toothbrush came from.   I finally used the happy faces stamps that I won from Peachy Keen on the teeth.  The green border punch is the loopy one from MS.  The leaves are from the bird punch from SU.

Fundraiser Crop 2011

Our school had a Crop fundraiser for the yearbook. It was a lot of fun! Jenny, our yearbook advisior, did a great job organizing it and providing us with delicious snacks! Thanks Jenny!!! Our local Foodland, donated a veggie tray and dip. I think it was the best fresh veggies I have tasted in a long time. Thanks Foodland. We had a blast with family, friends, and co-workers!! I was pleased to see that our dear friend Ellen decided to come. It was her first crop and hopefully we didn't scare her away from future ones. As usual, our table was the noisiest!! Can't wait to do it again!

What an touching story!

I have been following Monique Griffith through her ordeal with Stage 3 breast cancer.  She has now finished her treatments and shows no sign of further disease! Praise the Lord!   She is an awesome inspiration to many of us and I'm so thankful she willingly shared her journey with us.  What an awesome person!   Check out her  blog, Monique Griffith Designs to see her creativity at work.  She has recently redesigned it too.  What a transformation!!
                                                                      ..

She had her first Ustream since kicking cancer in the butt and it was awesome!  She had tons of us supporting her and enjoying ourselves.  Thanks, Monique.  The chat room was moving so quickly it made you dizzy.  :)  She gave out some fantastic prizes.  I was one of those lucky ones that won!!!   It was a stamp set donated by  MyPinkStamper.  Robyn is such a generous person.  Don't forget to check her blog out, too.  I'm so thankful for all my online friends.  Thanks Monique!!!!

Happy Birthday, Abby

This is a birthday card for my daughter. Her 26th birthday is this week. Happy Birthday, Abby!! I was challenged to use some embossing on a card. So I used two embossing folders. Yes, two... I seldom use one. :) The base card has the dotted swiss on it and the green part I used a SU exclusive one called Floral Bouquet. I also used a SU stamp. It looks like it is washed out here but it actually has stickles on it. It looks so much better in reality. The ribbon is not pink (she hates pink) but it really a beige color. I used a Frisker border punch on the edge too. The butterflies are really cool. They have clear wings and are 3D and made my DCWV. They are about three layers, too. Inside I stamped a message and included her name. I have had her name stamp since she was a little girl and this is the first time I've used it. Forgot to mention that the added gems to the center of the flowers.

Scraproom 2011

This is my scrapping area. Many of my online friends, sisters, and sister in laws have asked to see it.  Its not actually called a room because the staircase is in this room although it has a door to close off the other rooms.  Its not big at all and I've tried to utilize the space as much as possible.  The bad part is there is a gun cabinet in here taking up a lot of space but there is no other room to put it in.  I really wish I had that space for more work area.  Oh well...  Can't have a perfect space.

.

I got three old black plastic cassette racks free while on vacation.  I had to haul them everywhere we went on vacation.  LOL   I painted them white and cut foam board to make shelves.   I love that I can adjust the shelves the way I want.  I have two here in the corner and one with my stamping supplies on it. THis is shown several pictures down.
